Atlanta Kyte
“I really enjoy getting to know and understand you (my patient), I often find that by giving your problem context we can make a specific plan for you, that gets you better quicker .”
Atlanta Kyte - Osteopath
Hi, I’m Atlanta and I’m an Osteopath. I am also a mother of two and my hobbies include amateur dramatics, running with our dog in the countryside and reading.
I graduated with a BSc (Hons) from the University Collage of Osteopathy in 2002. I also have a degree in Cellular and Molecular Pathology from the University of Bristol and I worked as a research scientist in Cape Town before retraining.
I have worked as an Osteopath in Bristol, London and now Oxford. I’ve worked in GP practices, large multidisciplinary practices, sports injury clinics and a homeless center. For a few years I worked alongside GPs in Westminster treating MPs (which is where I gained valuable experience in diplomacy).
Oxford is home to me and we chose to return here to bring up our children. I started working at the Summertown Clinic in 2016.
Professionally I am experienced practitioner and can treat both acute and long term symptoms. I treat lower back pain, neck pain…heads, shoulders, knees and toes, and everything in between. I do have some areas of specialist interests such as the elderly and pregnant women.
I use a variety of techniques to treat patients, including joint articulation to improve their range of movement, massage and stretching to encourage relaxation of tight muscles, and joint manipulation to improve function and mobility.
If appropriate I will use medical acupuncture alongside my osteopathic work. I will also give advice on lifestyle, exercises and work ergonomics, tailored to you as an individual. I like to try to ‘find the health’ in my patients and empower/encourage them to continue that journey.
In 2016 Atlanta was a finalist for Associate Osteopath of the year at the annual iO awards and came runner up
