David Ruddick - Shortlisted Principle of the YearThis year is the inaugural iO (institute of Osteopathy) awards and we’re delighted to have been shortlisted in 3 of the 5 categories. David Ruddick was nominated by 2 of our practitioners for the award and the judging panel shortlisted him as 1 of the top 3 Principles in this nationwide award that is open to all osteopaths.

The nominations cited David’s many qualities as a Principle, including his ability to build a community of practitioners who support each other and enjoy working together, with several working at the practice for over 2 decades (Chris Boardman, Duncan Cameron Mitchell, and Sally Evans). He has helped the clinic grow over the last 40 years from a husband and wife team treating from the front room of their house, to a 27 strong team of practitioners covering as many as 17 different therapies. His leadership has extended beyond the clinic as well as he was involved in helping running the regional group (now called Oxfordshire Osteopathic Network) and help work with and support other colleagues.

We are looking forward to hearing the outcome of the awards this evening at the iO’s Gala awards dinner (at the Runnymeade Hotel in Egham), which will be attended on his behalf by James Ruddick and Claire Cullen, and of course Joel Redman and his partner who are also in the running for the iO Award for best associate.

The 3rd category that we are involved in is the Regional Group of the year, for which the Oxfordshire Osteopathic Network has received an award. This group was re-established by James Ruddick, Claire Cullen, Tom Bedford, Summeara Bedford and Tina Darnell in 2013 and has also been shortlisted for its achievements in bringing osteopaths together in Oxfordshire.

Regardless of the result we are very proud of both David and Joel’s contribution and very happy that they are being recognised in this manner.
