by Leah Wright

Alexander Technique teachers have the privilege of meeting and working with people who come with a huge variety of issues and concerns and I thought I would tell you about a new pupil who came to see me because her horse kept getting lame, yes, the horse, not the pupil.

The horse had been troubled with lameness for years and neither vets nor riding instructors had been able to solve the problem and my pupil began to wonder if the cause might be something to do with her rather than the horse. She was soon proved to be right and as her own alignment, balance and good use of her body improved so the horse’s lameness began to improve. The horse is now happier, fitter and enjoys her exercise and outings and so does my pupil! What a happy outcome.
